Its just because I check my email in at least 3 places - I use Eudora at home (which does filter), I use my ISP's webmail (which doesn't filter) and I use my Palm and my cellphone (which only downloads headers and doesn't filter). Having a little marker like [LIB] gets useful in those sorts of situations.
