I'm actually still trying to figure out why Toshiba still has them when the Satellite range is actually becoming more powerful and the Tecra range becoming cheaper (originally the Satellite Pro was supposed to be a more powerful Satellite with some of the management features of the Tecra but for a lower price). If you were going for a low-mid range Toshiba I'd recommend either a Satellite, a Portege or the new Libretto. The former 2 I've seen recent models of and they're very nice. Toshiba Satellite 3005-S403 is particularly nice if not a little heavy, I was going to get one but then I decided to get my second hand Libretto and get a big Dell in half a years time. If you're aiming lower the 1800 seems pretty well put together and is particularly cheap. The new Porteges are also really nice and powerful and very light, almost as light as the old Librettos. They also have full magnesium cases so you can afford to throw them around a little (as some people at work found out ...). I've never seen a new Libretto (except in pictures on the web) or used it since it ain't available in Australia but I believe at least one person on this list has one ...
