It's boring really, anything interesting, Xin's already done (Libretto 
legend #5 ?)

The only real problem you'll have is getting another socket in there...if 
you don't use the IR port, replacing the LED is probably about your only 
hope.

The page deals with a mic - but there's data on the chip which IIRC has a 
high level  (-20dBish) input also.

One point to note regarding most sound chips which aim for soundblaster 
compatibility: there is an amplifier *before* the level control on each 
channel. There is probably a sensible reason for this - but the effect is 
that you may need to reduce the level of a signal *externally* if it is 
clipping - reducing the gain of the channel will  simply give you a clipped 
smaller signal.
