Hmmm... 10.16mm... 9.5mm would be 0.374"...

Following on from the previous discussion about the converters for CFcards
to go in PCcard slots being just dumb pin-to-pin adapters, I'm guessing
there's no reason other than available space and physical connection that
would prevent you from using CFcard or PCcard format media to boot from, so
long as it's IDE?

So, I wonder if it might be possible to "adapt" one of these (ie modify,
permanently, along with a Libretto) so that, by sacrificing one of the
existing PCcard slots and with a bit of lateral thinking and a steady hand,
you'd end up with one "real" PCcard slot where you previously had two, and
convert the other into a "bootable" slot which the BIOS would "see" exactly
where it now "sees" the OE HDD.

The sacrificed/adapted slot would only then be any good for a bootable IDE
(HDD or Flash, and could be PCcard, or CFcard format plus an adapter)
device, but it would give you an instant removeable/swapable boot device,
plus a choice of boot media, all in one go...

I'd be interested to pursue this - anybody got the guts of a "broken" 100 or
110 they are ready to part with? I guess I don't need screen, keyboard,
battery, HDD, etc; and I already have a dock, FDD, power supply, etc - so
anything that would boot *if* it had a HDD, and was connected to a dock with
a power supply and external keyboard / VDU...
