Looks like that's the problem - the pcb fuse is blown at the very least. Looks like it's marked at 3.15A, but I found a 3A ultra fast blow - which is the same surface mount package. (RS part number is 843-419 on the web at http://www.rswww.com) Thanks for the info. -- pd At 21:13 17/01/2002, you wrote: >Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2002 21:05:24 >From: "neil barnes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: [LIB] - L70 no power after hot undocking from EPR? > > > >>Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2002 13:52:48 +0000 >>From: Paul Davey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >>Subject: [LIB] - L70 no power after hot undocking from EPR? >> >>Hi, >> >>I'm sure I'm not the first person this happened to - but I can't find any >>web page or >>archive listing the problem - never mind a solution. >> >>I have a L70 and managed to pick up an enhanced port replicator a year or >>so back. >>All was well until I failed to power down the L70 before undocking. >>(The manual warns you not to do this - but it's all too easy ...) >> >>Now my libretto works fine on the EPR when docked - (power is then supplied >>from the normal PSU via the EPR through the base connection) --- >>but the regular side power-in socket no longer powers up the machine, >>and it seems that the battery is not charging in either configuration. >> >>I have split the battery pack (tougher than I expected) and checked the >>internal themal >>fuse and all seems well there >> >>So I assume I have blown a fuse or transistor within the L70. >> >>Anyone have any suggestions? >> >>Fixes (I'm fairly competent with a soldering iron) or repair services (in >>UK?)? >> >>regards >> Paul > >Got to admit, never having had a 70 manual, I pop mine on and off the epr >all the time without a problem...maybe I should be more careful :) > >There's a power supply fuse on the top of the pcb just behind the battery >connector.
