> Good program. Recommended along with 2.41 - 2.43 of ACDSee. Just to clarify! I'm recommending PicaView 1.31 as being: 1) super-convenient (view/rotate from Win.Explorer "File"/right-click menu) 2) a 943KB download (and a correspondingly "minimal" installation) 3) freeware (let me know if you lost your copy of the relevant magazine...) --- The current version - PicaView 2.0 - is, IMHO, nowhere near as convenient in day-to-day use for the specific tasks discussed (ie quick viewing and lossless rotation of .JPGs) as the 1.3x versions. PicaView 2.0 has also bloated to a whopping 5.19Mb download - this seems to be because PicaView has been absorbed into a much larger program, and just to get what is now "sawn-off" functionality, you have to download and install several megabytes of stuff you are then denied access to. ACDSee 2.41 - 2.43 is, AFAIK (it's no longer on the ACDsee website - maybe it's called ACDSee Classic now) something completely different - it's a program you have to run, not an add-on Windows Explorer utility; the latest version is 4.0, in various multi-MB guises. AFAIK, of all the alternatives mentioned above, PicaView 1.30/1.31 is the only freeware. ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
