The point of installing Win2000 on L100 is that you rarely need reboot it.
Last time I booted my L100 is months ago. Try that in your Win98.

I don't use hibernation that often as I see in standby mode, L100 does not
consum any more power than shutdown or hibernate. It is true win2000 is a
resource hog compared to win98. But if you know how to trim it down it is
still quite responsive. However the same can not be said to WinXP. I will
take Win2000's stability over anything Win9x offers.
