I just shutdown my L100 @ 266MHx IBM 20Gb Travelstar drive. With no other programs running, it took 24 seconds from shutdown click, to led off. Booting after OS menu to network login and no HD activity took 3mins50sec although I could have logged in after 2mins35sec >From that login to desktop with no HD activity it takes 1min52sec There is nothing in the startup and very little installed either, only partition magic, IE & OE, InnoculateIT (now no longer supported) and various service packs and hotfixes. The flip side is that the speaker has started working for some strange reason. I have shut it down before too. Any ideas or is this alright for "speed" ?
