Heh... yeah! You remember those huh? They were like short water skis with a little cord attached to the nose that you held in your hand. Skateboarders took to them like flies to honey in the early 70s, and eventually redesigned them into what we know as the snowboard... now an Olympic event! Surfing, motocross, BMX, skateboarding, skiing, hang glidings, ultralight people seem to have a huge population of adults who never grew up.
