Another hint for improving playback quality in Winamp: make sure you
have some physical RAM (as opposed to swap) free for it to use.

I leave a couple of copies of Agent running all the time on my 32MB
Lib 70, and find that when I start Winamp it sits there playing a
horribly distorted version of the first few seconds of an MP3. The
solution is to install RamBooster (http://www.sci.fi/~borg/rambooster)
which keeps a few MB of RAM free - Winamp then plays back fine.
