Subject: Re: [LIB] M820E CD burning problems on L70

Working here for months on my L110 w/o any problems at all in both 16 & 32 bit
modes.

It was a used unit off Ebay from some smoker, so when I first got it, it did do
some sticking and failed to burn after 1/3rd of the CD-R consistantly.

But, that was easily fixed by taking it apart, cleaning the drive rails and
oiling it down with some nice (and smelly) Valvoline spray synthetic lubricant
(auto zone stores). Move the head back and forth a few time by spinning the
gears, then dropped everything together into the case and ran RANDOM seek in
CDSpeed 2000 a couple times.

Back to boring again. Worked like a charm and the drives trouble free ever
since.

basically, just means don't go smoking around sensitive CD drive
mechanisms.....

d =)
