I've been following this Libretto replacement thread with interest. I had occasion to make a trip to Japan recently and got a chance to look at (and try out) all of the recent small laptops. Being a gearhead I'm always on the lookout for the new big thing(!) but I am also in my curmudgeonly way of the mind that if it ain't a lot better, why bother? So, my report is - none of the new notebooks have much over the L110. One is a smidge lighter, one is a smidge smaller, etc. They do have bigger HD's and more RAM but I run my L110 with Win2K and the standard memory and hard drive and even though I use it just like a desktop (word processing, internet surfing, email, etc.) I don't find that I am ever lacking resources. Along with a modem card, a very light CD-RW and a lightweight external hard drive one can cover just about anything that the new cuties can (and they need the externals as well anyway), so why spend the $ to essentially stay in place? I dunno, what do you all think? I recently found a very helpful site for checking out the reps of the multitude of online computer/peripherals sellers......http://www.resellerratings.com/ They list 450+ some such sellers with user remarks and a handy scoring system.
