Temperature changes will affect the oscillation rate of a crystal. Some
older two way radios had crystal ovens to keep them at a constant
temperature so the frequency wouldn't drift. I'm sure you'll find that
the time change varies with the amount of power up time.

I just started this group today. I'm looking at buying a 50ct at the
moment. Any tips good or bad as to what to watch out for?

Thanks.
Rick.

EeeHaaaww! Sounds sweet! I just can't figure out why my $2 flea market

watch can keep time more accurately than my L70! %$#&^%>!+ I set it one

week, and the next week it's off by 3-4-5 minutes sometimes....
sometimes
not.... can't figure out why. I thought crystals worked the kind of
accuracy magic that made the old springs obsolete. I wonder if my 70
has a
spring in there somewhere I've just missed poking around in there.

  MMMM_MMMM

And, oh yeah... ...Where >are< you these daze Raymond? ... Maybe he's
taken
Neil's lead and headed to Rio for a nice vacation and battle with jungle

fever. :-0
