It came as a stock standard Lib 100 (166Mhz processor, 2Gig hard drive, 32 MB ram). I received my extra 32MB ram module from Orca today (I ordered it over the UK and it took about 5 days to come from the UK to South Africa). I bought at Fijutsu 20 Gig 2.5" drive, installed EZ-drive (thanks to a post found in the archives) and made three partitions, first 8 Gig, second 200 Mb (for hibernation, I added a bit of extra space just to be safe), and then the rest (11 Gigs or so) as a third partition. I formatted the drive in my Libby and then took it out and used a 2.5" converter copy the old 98lite install (and all my other 1.9Gig on the old drive) onto the new drive. I installed windows 98 on it, then simply renamed the new Windows and Program Files folders and popped my old ones in their place. It booted up perfectly first time, much quieter and quicker ( I guess the extra 32 MB of Ram helps with making it quicker, but the new drive also showed a faster speed under my benchmark software). The only strange little problem is that the little green hard drive LED on the Libretto case stays on constantly. Not sure why that is? Also, the drive does seem to fit rather snugly into the 100. Does one have to remove 'spacers' in the 100 like you had to in the 50CT? I do see that the 100 has a larger cavity for a hard drive. I also overclocked it to 266Mhz, much easier than overclocking my old 50CT (which died about a year after I overclocked it, I think it was a combination of heat and an oversized 9mm hard drive). I am hoping this little guy will last a lot longer, I have CPUIdle loaded and it seems to be doing the trick. I also bought a cheap USB 2.0 Cardbus, so now I can use my USB external CD re-writer, external 6 in 1 memory card reader etc. I am so pleased with this little machine, it has everything I need, is a quarter of the size of my Sony Vaio (which I only keep because I watch DVD's on it and use it's Firewire and processing power / Ram to edit Video with my Sony MiniDV camera). By the way, has anyone managed to get an external DVD drive (USB 2.0 or such) to work on their Libretto 100? The other thing is that the battery on my Libby still gives around three hours (reading e-mail etc.), so that is great for short flights and doing a bit of work outside of home or the office. Now all I have got to figure out is how to install Redhat 7.1 on this machine, without a bootable CD Rom.... I will have a look in the archives and on the net.
