I've unearthed my wife's Libretto from storage and, as it is now "my" machine, am going to start using. But I have some questions and would appreciate some advice. It is a 100CT with 64MB RAM, no modifications as far as I know. I have the usual accessories - FDD, PCMCIA CD-ROM, docking, etc. 1. The current OS is Win 98. I would like to do a clean install of Win XP. Will Win XP work satisfactorily on this machine? (It will be used for browsing, email, MS Office, perhaps some GPS/map software, but not concurrently.) Can someone walk me through the steps to do this, and where to find the necessary drivers? 2. I'm planning to use the Lib on a Linksys WLAN at home and a Verizon wireless NIC outside the home. Can anyone think of reasons why this won't work? (I can't, but I don't know much about this stuff.) 3. Last time I checked (>1 year ago) 64MB was the most RAM I could put in this machine. Is that still the case? 4. I think this machine can be overclocked, right? Is there anyone out there who does that (and other mods, like installing a larger HDD etc), for a fee? I can build desktop PCs fine, but have never cracked open a notebook and don't want to make my Lib the guinea pig. Thank you. I know these are pretty elementary questions, so I'm hoping for your patience. ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
