The HP M820E CD-RW works fine here under Windows 98SE. Just install the
windows drivers for the unit, install Ahead Nero, and voila! works just fine
on my L110.

Hey David,

We've already been through this discussion a couple times in the past year. I couldn't get it working on my L70 w/Win98, and didn't have SE at that point. When I got the L100, SE was installed, and the installation files on the HDD. But the M820E still wouldn't write.

Remember that whole thread last Nov or Dec on taking it apart and lubricating it to try to solve the problem? But for whatever reason, it suprised the heck out of me when I discovered I could drag & drop files in XP's WE with a blank CD-R in the drive, and had the file written with no problem at all.

Got me.

Matt
