It is not limited by BIOS or OS. It is the hardware design of the
motherboard limit the addressable memory space of the machine. That is
Toshiba simply didn't connect a few address lines from memory controller to
memory slot. Or even worse, the memory controller may not be designed to
handle more than 64MB. Either case, it's a real tough job to fix it.

My recent posts on battery life got me thinking on something else. I started
wondering how difficult it would be to upgrade the ram to greater than 64
meg. To be honest, I would love to have 256 or 512 meg. Coupled with the 233
MHz processor the 110 would be very fast!! Since the pentium can see up to 4
gigs of ram I would think the major blocks to doing this would be the bios
under 98 but I'm wondering whether XP, since it bypasses the bios in a lot
of stuff, would be able to see it.

Any thoughts on this?

John
