Subject: DOS on the Libretto

I finally got tired of dinking around with DOSes meant to be run from
floppies like DR, PT and others and finally installed the MSDOS 7 from
Windows 98 in my DOS partitiion. So far it is preemo!! It sees FAT32 without
a problem!! In fact if I wanted I could reformat the FAT16 partition into
FAT32 and run everything off it!! Its not bad as far as size goes- so far
I'm only using about 300k for the basic kernel and its running my DOS
programs perfectly- no GUI included- I hate GUI's!! No multitasking yet too
but I'm working on the multitasking included with DR to see if I can get it
to work. It needs long file name support too but I think I can steal that
from Windows. If not there is plenty of Windows style LFN source out there
so with a little modification it'll have it. To be honest Billy boy still
has a really cool DOS!! And so far its kicking ass on every DOS I've tried
so far!! But anyway since I finally have a DOS that works I can dump that
crappy Win98 bulls**t partition and install Slackware in it like I've been
planning!!
Yippeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great
day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!

Later

John
