Hmm. I guess not. David? Yours is working fine?
I just upgraded my Libretto 100CT to an 80G drive (the IBM/Hitachi Travelstar) and I find that with this drive, the hard disk activity LED stays on. Anyone else had this problem with this drive?
I swapped the drive back with the old one - HDD LED works fine.
Swapped back to the Travelstar - HDD LED stays on.
I tried upgrading the BIOS to 8.10, it made no difference.
From power-on, the first drive access latches the HDD LED on.
I see from the archives that a few other people had a similar problem. Did anyone manage to fix it or are you just living with it?
My guess is that there is an incompatibility between the -DASP signal coming from the drive and the lib, and the output from the drive is latching low. I'd put a 10k resistor in there to test this but I'm rather short of physical space in there, even for an SMD resistor...
