I've only had it for about a week, and haven't even installed it yet. I've
had quite good luck with Travelstar drives: a 6gb orginally in my L100CT, then
a 20GB 30GN in the L100CT, a 20GB 40GN in my Sony Z505R, and the new one as
yet untested. They've been quiet (except for the original 6.4GB in the Sony
which was loud) and nary a problem to date - although I do get the clicking
playing mp3s on the Libretto. I'm not convinced it's the drive, though.
Was that clicking issue something all of the drives you've bought have shared? Or one in paticular?
It seems like the MP3c clicking on my Fujitsu HDD is likely a heat related issue. I don't know what else might cause the clicking to disappear after letting the L70 sit powered down for 10-15 minutes. But I don't have the problem with my 6GB Toshiba drive in my L100. I don't think it happens in my old Tosh 750MB HDD. I just found a 2GB Tosh HDD that came in my L70... I'll have to test to see how it performs playing MP3s.
Matt
