So my question is, is there ANY other way to test Ab to see if I can pull the old data from the FAT32 partition, or at least prove beyond a doubt that the partition is gone, gone, gone?

Hey Tom,

Finally getting a moment to check in here. I spent 30-40 minutes the other night laying out the latest on my 20GB failure, but I got uop for a few minutes, and my L70 was frozen when I got back, loosing my work of course. Mouse problem - fixed now.

If you can get hold of a copy of Stellar Phoenix, or Easy Recovery, you could put the bad drive in the desktop as slave on the primary, or master >or< slave on the secondary IDE channel, and then attempt recovery from one of the 2 programs from the system's main drive. The programs will take some time to analyze the drive, but will then present you with a tree showing all recoverable files.

WinHex also has the ability to recover files, but as I recall, it's a one at a time process.

Matt
