Hi Matt & Raymond:

Thanks for the suggestions.
After rereading David's outline I finally discovered a sentence on
peeling another protective layer off... stupid me.
(And again stupid me as I intended to send the mail to David only but
replied to the list. Sorry for this).

BTW The link above doesn't work (Saturday 21:30 GMT+2) - I'll retry
later. Hopefully next week I'll have another opportunity for trying to
attach the AR film. At the same time I want to try to fix a defect I've
had since some years: after having transported the Lib around the screen
shows a vertical line raster which predominantly affects the gray and
black colors. Plus if I bend the screen portion I see some light colored
lines at the left side of the screen. Both are probably due to loosened
contacts.

I removed the display mask easily using the method outlined in the
Lib100 maintenance manual (.pdf version).
But I have never been able to remove the bottom cover of the Lib.
Removing the screws is easy, but then the bottom cover hooks somewehere
and I can't see what it is. The maintenance manual doesn't give clues.
I'm getting inclined to believe that it can't be removed that easy at
all.
I need to do that to experiment with the IDE lines - my Hitachi 60 GB
always has the HD activity LED on, I want to experiment a bit with
pull-up resistors. Space wil be the nr 1 issue I think.

Philip
