Today,I`m now in Tokyo for the next three weeks until Oct 31st (flying out Nov. 1st). Didn't get a chance to rent a cell phone yet due to the very late arrival of my flight into Narita (first diverted to Chitose in Sapporo for a few hours before flying back down), which luckily made it in time to just barely catch the last train out. Many others were very stuck in Narita for the evening, and very unhappy. Since Monday is coming tommorrow, I'll hopefully be able to track down a PuPuRu in Tokyo city itself and rent a phone from them. --- Very odd city! 1) Almost no public trash cans anywhere!?! How the heck do you throw any refuse away while walking about? 2) Almost everyone's not smiling! Very unhappy crowd here. Must be the humid buildings and train stations. Can't believe they don't have the AC going in big bookstores like that one 7 story whatever it is called right across from Tokyo Station itself. 3) Same poor thing with bathrooms as well - gotta hit the train stations often for these. 4) Nearly impossible to navigate w/o a printed map and/or GPS system. Honestly, it has one of the worst street systems on the planet, and even taxi drivers can't find a place only 10 minutes away.
