I have to disagree, I don't think there is a flavour
of windows past 3.1 that is appropriate to run on a
laptop with under 2 gigs of ram. There is simply not
enough ram with less than that and it really creates
problems with the machine. For example I have windows
2000 installed on my libretto and don't use it unless
I am forced to. If I am forced to use it my battery
life drops immeadiately down to next to nothing, I
have no0 ram availible to run programs properly, the
hard drive constantly runs and it gets so warm I can
barely use it without fear of damage to the cpu board
components. Compare this to others like dos and linux
which leave at least 50 megs of ram free to run
programs, and where the hard drive is practicly unused
except to initially LOAD programs, which is all a hard
drive was meant for anyway. And my linux installatin
is a full
server--dns,http,ftp,imap,nntp,etc--installation too!!
