Luckily, 2.6.362 seems to be a very solid firewall, so no big problems
running it all day long.

A quick search finds one issue,"trojan that can issue key commands," in a forum thread starting here:

http://news.hping.org/comp.security.firewalls.archive/2351.html

I ran my v6.1.737 through Steve Goodman's Shields Up:

https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

And found the new ZA isn't blocking pings, even though its docs say it's supposed to.

Wonder how 2.6.362 goes through that test.

I may download LeakTest ( http://www.grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm ) and test it on this new and old versions of ZA if I can find a trustworthy copy of the old.

2.6.362 comes in both free and pro versions (in fact, every ZA after that comes in at least two verisons, free & pro - latest ones have added more). You can simply download and use the free version for as long as you want forever.

With software addressing security, it always seems best to get copies from the vendor's websites. I haven't found any 2 copies of 2.6.362 from different sites that match.

One way to take the 'bootup' delay out of your life is to enable HIBERNATION and do that all the time. It's a lot quicker, and I'm in and out of Windows
fast if I ever need to do it.

I frequently have problems with little aspects of Windows not functioning properly after coming out of hibernation requirely rebooting anyway.

Matt
