Thanks Philip Looks like something is adrift with either the hard disk (time to dig out samsungs disk tester) or the libretto ide controller. fdisk /mbr or reseating the drive has got it to a stage where I can boot off the disk. I can repeat the steps and it works but now it doesn't support filenames > 8.3 format which I vaguely remember happening on a different pc and it being a painful experience to resolve. <sigh> ----- Start Original Message ----- Sent: Thu, 19 Apr 2007 14:17:46 -0700 From: Philip Nienhuis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Libretto <libretto@basiclink.com> Subject: Re: [LIB] Basic libretto 110 hard disk upgrade not working!! > Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2007 23:16:12 +0200 > From: Philip Nienhuis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [LIB] Basic libretto 110 hard disk upgrade not working!! > > Alan Middleton wrote: > > Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2007 21:12:37 +0100 (BST) > > From: "Alan Middleton" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Subject: Basic libretto 110 hard disk upgrade not working!! > > > > Hello, > > > > I'm not sure if this list is still active but I'm fresh out of ideas so > > hopefully someone is still listening :) > > Some people still lurk sometimes. > The list is still in my spam filter's friends section.... > > > I recently purchased a Samsung laptop hard disk > > (http://www.samsung.com/Products/HardDiskDrive/SpinPointMSeries/HardDiskDrive_SpinpointMseries_MP0804H_sp.htm) > > with the intention of resurrecting the libretto 110 and using it as a > > portal media player.
