I got a reply, from Aurelien, who confirmed that the issue does not 
occur for future Debian version 7.x, aka Wheezy. Of course they tested 
the package before the switch, so this was kind of expected.

As they don't experience the issue, they are not planning to apply any 
fix on top of 1.0.11. They also indicate that it's unlikely the 1.0.12 
will be used for Wheezy, as the freeze period should have started by 
that time, but as long as they're fine with the libusbx version they 
use, I guess that's OK
