What is the OS used here? If you are using Windows XP 32 bit, try Windows Vista or 7 (32bit or 64bit) to see if the problem still exists or not. If your apps are okay under Windows Vista and Windows 7, this might be related to the fact that CancelIoEx() is not availability under Windows XP.
