Subject: How do I install Win32::Daemon on a Windows 2008 R2 server with Active Perl 5.8.8 Build 822?

Hello,

Please see the subject line. Please note that the server on which the
installation is to occur does not have access to the internet.

Thank you in advance.

Use the ppm package at the bribes repo

1) Grab a copy of
http://www.bribes.org/perl/ppm/Win32-Daemon-20110117-PPM58.tar.gz and save it as "Win32-Daemon-20110117-PPM58.tar.gz".
2) Grab a copy of
http://www.bribes.org/perl/ppm/Win32-Daemon.ppd and save it as "Win32-Daemon.ppd".

Place both files in the same folder (any folder that's *not* part of the perl tree) on your 2008 R2 server. (You'll have to copy them over via whatever means you have at your disposal - USB stick, network connection, compact disc, floppy, whatever ...)

Then 'cd' to that folder and (assuming your perl-5.8.8 is in the path) run:
ppm install Win32-Daemon.ppd

Cheers,
Rob
