I have no idea about sourceforge. It should be trivial if you can run
cron processes on some Unix webserver: each night get the current
source with cvs, package it into a .tar.gz archive and publish on the
webserver. Put an URL that links to this archive on the home page or
somewhere. A simple shellscript and a bit of testing for permissions
etc.

Dunno. You are the sourceforge project maintainer. Sorry.

Which was what threw me, of course. Users never, ever, read
manuals or spend more than a few seconds figuring something out. If the
visible area of a webpage (no scroll!) does not have the information
they look for, its already over.

Not if you know a bit of HTML and don't do a total redesign, just
update.

I can send you an updated version of http://www.linpro.no/lwp/ this
weekend, if you want. But I don't have time to maintain that.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow
into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own
freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop
away from you like the leaves of Autumn.
