Hi (and many thanks) to the licq developers, I am reading the licq mailing lists regularly, as licq is my favorite linux ICQ client and I update my CVS version regularly. But it is quite hard to follow, as you don't give many status feedback. Please consider starting a Changelog (maybe with one entry per CVS commit?) This would make it much easier to help you by testing (and if you write things like "but xyz isn't working properly yer" into the Changelog, maybe help developing.
It is not so much work gor you, but a big step for the licq community. I am still not really sure about the reliability: Does licq still loose messages? What about the "do not accept communication with older clients" option? AFAIK, AOL was forced to release the protocol in the Time Warner Merger (an older post to this list). Isn't it time to start an email campaign, or to slashdot them or similar? You are not alone, Developers, maybe the community can help this way. An official protocol description would make your ugly job quite easier, wouldn't it? Does anyone on this list know a link or any proof that AOL was forced to release the protocol? With this, an email campaign cold be quite succesful.
