Instead of killing Licq when you need to get to it, you should initially
start it in a screen session, then you can detach and re-attach it
anywhere.  It's really nice.
As for the blank messages, that's a very old problem, that should have
been solved a month or so ago in the CVS, I would update to the latest
version.
