For me it started when i changed to source based distribution named gentoo, i 
used kde-gui on redhat 7.2 with kde3 rpms installed, 7.3 with kde3 
preinstalled, and mdk8.2 kde3 rpms installed, worked fine, so i rather blame 
compilation of kde3 i did, any ways to check something?

I'd appreciate, and will be glad helping to find the solution, since im not 
alone with this crash
