-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, I have found a couple issues with the latest Licq that I thought I'd mention since the 1.3 release is being tested. (All of this is a recent CVS version).
The MSN plugin doesn't automatically log in when I start Licq, even though I have the network settings set to automatically go online for the icq protocol. I was wondering if this is intentional, something just not finished, or what, and when it might be fixed. Also, I have noticed that there is some weirdness happening the non-ICQ protocols (AIM, MSN) with regards to showing online or offline. 1. I can see regular users who use AIM online in my contact list. But my friend, who uses Trillian, is not seen as online (on my list) even though the AIM client can see him as online (I have verified this). 2. I created a test AIM account; I can see it online, but my AIM client does not see my licq account online, even though I can send messages just fine. 3. Today (don't know if it's just today) my friend on MSN said he couldn't see me online, but I was online and my friends on Trillian COULD see me online with MSN. The online/offline thing doesn't bother me too much but I wonder if it's a bug that might be looked at for the 1.3 release. I just realized after typing all of this that it's been about 5 days since I last updated cvs. I'll update and try again tomorrow. I have to say, this release of Licq is looking great. It's not as multi-protocol as, say, Kopete, which is designed from the ground up to be multi-protocol, but the groundwork is in place, and I'm happy with the direction it's going in. I switched to kopete for a few months but the reliability and ease of use of Licq brought me back, only to find that there was a working MSN plugin (the original reason for the switch to kopete was to use msn)!! Great work guys on an excellent program.
