Unfortunately it's what comes with Fedora Core 4. But you're probably right about not using it: I have a feeling that this is what will cause the most problems for FC4 users. Other than that though, FC4 is pretty nice. Incidentally, I managed to figure out what was wrong with the kde-gui compile; the Makefile was trying to load KDE libs from /usr/lib instead of /usr/lib64. Mark
