Oops, sorry about that. I wasn't sure, actually ;-)

With the change, it behaves as you suggested... The name does not get
chopped when logging on to the server, but qt-gui is not able to
correctly display it.

This happens immediately when hitting 'Save' in the User Info dialog.

I have some users' encoding set to CP 1250 (mainly of those using the
windows client). Some others are set to ISO 8859-2. None of them is
correctly displayed with the latest patch.
