However, after further testing I think this is a bigger problem for me. After failing at getting licq to work I tried ICQ's official java client and gnomeICU(got it from apt, woody). Neither of those clients could log on either. The windows version of ICQ works, though. As far as my network topology goes, I have a DSL ethernet modem connected to a linksys DSL/Cable router which takes care of everything DSL related and acts as a hardware firewall. Could this be the root of my troubles?
