I'm not sure whether these are adressed in the new CVS and/or release of LICQ, but I thought I'd sound off here about the two prevalent problems I'm experiencing with LICQ.

Since the release of 1.2, I've started sticking to the releases which is easier to track on the dozen or so Linux workstations I'm responsible for administrating (up until that point I had probably a dozen different revisions running at any given time), so now Gentoo's `emerge world -u` can take care of LICQ for me. {smile}

Anyways - problem number 1 has been a fairly long standing issue, and that involves the "Send Through Server" option. It almost seems as if it's now worse with 1.2.0a. Vis; I have three people with whom I regularly establish SSL tunnels, and who all have atleast ten ports forwarded through their firewalls for LICQ (and cilents appropriately configured to accept on those ports), and with no status changes on either end, literally from sending one message to the next, the "Send Through Server" box will become checked. If not for the "This message will not be sent secure ... " dialog, I'd probably send 75% of my messages to these three people through the server.

Problem number 2 is an issue that could be LICQ, could be KDE, could be QT - I'm not sure. Since updating to about KDE 3.0.[4|5(a)] with LICQ 1.2.0a, I've experienced LICQ loading (from the KDE "K" Menu), flashing ICQ flower during load, and when the GUI and systray icon appear - the flower contniues to flash until it 'times out' (about a minute or thereabouts after load time).

Not a big deal, just something kind of odd I thought might be somewhat important to address.

As soon as KDE 3.1 is released I'll likely be the first one on the bandwagon to upgrade, so we'll see what happens in the meantime. :)

Thanks for listening, and apologies if these issues are already fixed.

Also; great work, Jon! LICQ was starting to get a bad rap before the 1.2 release as being "pointless to install" due to the old protocol support. It's nice to see it included in major distributions again and regaining the respect it deserves!
