Without looking at the code I can't be certain, but from the recovery to my system crashes, it appears as if LICQ keeps the licq.conf file open at all times.

Here's what happens;

Due to Xinerama being relatively unstable, I'll periodically get a hard-lock of my machine (and if anybody knows how to stabalize it with two monitors at differing resolutions, I'm all ears. :/ ). When I re-boot, licq.conf exists and is (approximately or exactly, I'm not sure) the same size as before the crash, but is full of "^@" (sans quotes; obviously an escape character of some kind). In 99% of the cases, licq.conf is the only application that encounters this problem, and I usually keep XFree86, KDE, XMMS, Phoenix, Mozilla Mail & News, K3B, and four Eterm log-tail windows open, along with various other apps (vmware background, BINDv9, SSHD, etc.)

My system is an Athlon, filesystems are all XFS, kernel 2.4.19-xfs with the latest release version of the XFS patches from SGI. I'll be testing kernel 2.4.20-xfs shortly.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
