I think this very issue is not the right to revert, since 'make po-replace'
works just fine (I just checked it).
The one that might be reverted is f7d264fa89c39f8d86e9ba5eb991ee904ce3d0be
(associated with issue 2524: CG: add updating of lilypond.pot in the
release process)
One remark that might enlighten this fail: it does not work without
a './autogen.sh' (or ./configure) followed by a 'make'. I have no idea how
to proceed with a "virgin" tree.
