Am just testing the latest iteration. The direct PNG output is _slightly_
better than before, exhibiting more uniform stem thickness. xpdf (with its
old poppler library) looks reasonable. Not fabulous but reasonable. A few
samples on Evince looked nice. I still have to do the
scripts/make-regtest-pngs.sh -p check of poppler/Cairo rendering and also
check -g. But I guess we can try giving this iteration a whirl in the next
unstable release and put it on probation.
