the use of the outlines of the characters in text takes a long time under
Windows.
Part of the reason is that the outlines are fetched and processed multiple
times.
Build skylines just once, if they will never change.

This speeds up LilyPond on Linux a bit (25% for the case in the mailing
list link above) and probably significantly on WinXP.
