I know, it's a trade-off. I was trying to convince you that if we point to
stable pages we'll get less (and finally no) complaints, because
experienced users who read dev manuals will learn quickly the deficiency of
the current search bar.
git log -p --follow Documentation/search-box.ihtml
shows that at the beginning stable versions were used (2.12 and 2.14).
