the commit is there but I don't think it solves the original problem (or
the problem wasn't explained in its real dimension).
move down the rest a little bit, like
\layout{ ragged-right=##t}
\relative c'' { c2 \p \> a,4 \rest \! }
and the piano and decrescendo also move down
