In the comments for issue 2745, I see

sounds like it was supposed to _fix_ the problem that you are now reporting.
Now if we are going to revert to the previous behavior, we likely should
also check whether the motivation for some of the recent additions to
accidental rules was not actually to have working alternatives to existing
accidental styles that only actually suffer from having this bug here.
