The reported error is not likely connected to the patch: it is a
garbage-collection related error that does not seem likely to get triggered
by the kind of code in here. Instead it may have occured randomly or
gotten triggered by the different distribution of regtests across LilyPond
processes occuring when a new regtest is added.
I would recommend rerunning the regtest. If the problem reoccurs, possibly
with a different setting of CPU_COUNT. I would be surprised if _this_
patch is responsible as it does not do anything in the C code and does not
change any internals.
