Nearly half the 460 examples that use the relative=n option of the lilypond-book system do not actually use the \relative. About 15% would give better advice to the users if they used a separate \relative for each segment of the input, such as the two hands of piano music.

Roughly 25% examples using relative=n have ten pitches or fewer, so it merely avoids the {} and a small number of octave marks.

I think we do not need any incantation to make LilyPond look simpler than it is.
