It is good that \clef G_8 is now possible. Sometimes the number below (or above) a clef has parentheses. For example, if soprano and tenore voices sing the same melody soprano has the `G' clef and tenore the `G_8' clef, correspondingly, but the melodies are the same. In order to represent both voices in the same staff the number can be put in partheses: `G_(8)'.
