I barely use Ctrl-C. I usually select text with the mouse left button,
then I guess the selected text is automatically copied into X clipboard,
as pasting it into GNOME terminal or Emacs works; however, my clipboard
manager (that records clipboard history) only takes the first letter of
copied text. FWIW I run under Fedora 12, but it shouldn't depend on a
particular distro (given they have similar software versions).

Best,
John
