Err, sorry, I misspoke. I didn't revert it; I did a git checkout 2a8f... I don't know what the real git term for that. "creating an unnamed local branch" ? "checking out an old version" ? Whatever it's called, all I did was to run the above command; I didn't do anything to the main gub git repo.
